Welcome to Good Thyme Restaurant and Catering – a beloved dining experience and homestead event venue that beautifully combines history and hospitality. Nestled within the walls of our cozily-restored 125-year-old Good Thyme house, you'll discover a treasure trove of unique details that make every event and visit truly special.
Our story begins with Renee Holman, a larger-than-life personality leading a lifetime pursuit of preparing and hosting amazing meals, who passed the torch to Benjamin Thoen in the spring of 2023. Despite being generations apart, Renee and Ben share a deep connection to Washburn. In 2003, Ben embarked on a journey working alongside Renee, and it didn't take long for him to fall in love with a lifelong career in hospitality. Renee's artisan style left an indelible mark on Ben, shaping his commitment to locally sourced, house-made cuisine and the world-class hospitality that will mark the legacy of Good Thyme.
In addition to the locally revered restaurant menu, Good Thyme offers one of a kind chef-catered events. Whether it's a wedding, corporate gathering, or any special occasion, we're delighted to provide a simply amazing meal, spectacular cocktails, and our renowned service to elevate your event. With our commitment to world-class hospitality and a historic “homestead-style” backdrop, your on-site catered event at Good Thyme will be an unforgettable experience from the moment you arrive.

Our property boasts a little something for everyone: expansive fields with ample space for tents accommodating up to 200 guests, sun-kissed gardens, and a stunning Tuscan-style pergola to create an intimate outdoor space, and a 2200 foot grass airstrip known as Old Dairy Airport for our pilot guests to fly and land directly at our door.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the countless family members, close friends, and the community that rallied behind Renee to resurrect the Big Yellow House. As we embark on the next chapter in the history of Good Thyme, we thank you for your continued support!
